Jack White scores in the Power Rankings

Consequence of Sound ranks the best Spring and Summer festival headliners.  Click the image below to read the article and the criteria.  The opinions would suggest Jack would be 2nd on this list, or tied for 1st place and we'll just agree with the latter and be happy they featured a photo with that trippy Vampire Weekend t-shirt.

Lorde Tour

We had the privilege to merchandise Lorde's first USA tour and it was nutso to see her perform in front of such manic crowds.  Lorde, please come to North Carolina on your next tour!

Black Lips tees

The Black Lips have a stable of cool T-shirt designs but this one seemingly incorporates the entire history of rock-n-roll freak tees in one lovely t-shirt.  Way to go, Black Lips!  See them live and buy a shirt.  Tour dates are here.

Festival Supreme

Posted on by Bill

We're proud to be the merchandiser for the upcoming Festival Supreme.  But even more than pride, we're so excited about attending Festival Supreme.  Mr. Show, The Mighty Boosh, Princess, and Tenacious D?  This may be Jack Black's dream festival but it's our dream, too.  It's as though someone was digging through the trash on the day we emptied our dream catchers.  They get too full sometimes.

The hardest working band in the biz.

Posted on by Bill

I can't think of another band that tours as much and keeps as busy as The Avett Brothers.  So, although this NPR story expresses surprise that they have a new album coming so quickly on the heels of The Carpenter, it just seems like another example of their productivity.  Click on the NPR store to hear Another Is Waiting from their upcoming release.

The story of Jack White and the temple.

Posted on by Bill

 From the Detroit Free Press:

The anonymous benefactor who recently paid the entire $142,000 balance in taxes to prevent Detroit’s Masonic Temple from falling into foreclosure was revealed today to be musician Jack White.

The Detroit-born White has performed on stage on several occasions at the Temple and partly grew up there when his mother served as an usher there.

In announcing Jack White’s identity as the anonymous donor, Detroit Masonic Temple Association President Roger Sobran stated: “Jack’s donation could not have come at a better time and we are eternally grateful to him for it. Jack’s magnanimous generosity and unflinching loyalty to this historic building and his Detroit roots is appreciated beyond words.”

Sobran added: “In light of Jack’s generosity and belief in the importance of a strong, vital Temple that should and will be available to future generations of Detroiters, the Masonic Temple Association will be naming, in Jack’s honor, our Cathedral Theater, the ‘Jack White Theater.’”

Tame Impala Spring 2013 Tour

Posted on by Bill

See Tame Impala if you have the chance.  Lonerism is a wonderful headtrip pop album and the live show does not disappoint.  After their February show at the 900-capacity Cat's Cradle, in Carrboro, a co-worker remarked: "I have a feeling that's the last time we'll see them in a venue that isn't an arena."  We'll hope that's the case for Tame Impala while being glad we had the chance to see one of the intimate shows.

Here are some photos of their tour T-shirts during the printing process.
